Dear Sisters and Brothers,

The members of the Leslie S. Parker Memorial Scholarship Committee of the Grand Chapter of Oregon need your assistance.  We would appreciate your help informing worthy, qualified young women of this scholarship.

Scholarships are available for women students for expenses in an accredited non-sectarian Oregon College or University.  The student must be an Oregon resident and have comp[leted at least two (2) years of satisfactory college work.

The scholarship will not be less than $500.00 nor exceed $1000.00 to a student in any one year.  The money, sent to the school, is to be used for books, tuition, board and room, or other school expenses

Applicants must write a PERSONAL REQUEST to the Chairperson of the Committee for application and college reference forms.  For the applicant to be considered for a scholarship, the forms must be completed and returned to the Chairperson by April 1, 2008.  The rules, carefully followed, expedite further communication.  Applicants must be recommended by an Eastern Star Chapter or Masonic Lodge. We urge that careful consideration and investigation be made before a member, Chapter or Lodge places a signature on the application form.  The application MUST bear the official signature and seal of the sponsoring body.

Your Chapter secretary has a copy of the rules for Scholarship Awards.  Duplicate copies may be obtained from the Chairperson of this committee.
